NASA, America’s space agency, has reportedly aligned with Epic Games to launch a challenge for digital product creators to assist with setting up a project in the Metaverse. The challenge would reportedly relish the daily routines of a Martian astronaut.
Epic Games, who are the creators of the renowned Game called Fortnite, would now assist NASA with creating the contest. The challenge will reportedly contain different assignments, including mimicking real-world working spaces of astronauts.
The metaverse project would utilize the gaming company’s infrastructure to provide a space that aptly mirrors the brick-and-mortar world. The US space agency recently informed the public about the competition.
When the space agency announced the competition, it requested digital assets’ creators to assist with setting up a Martian space in the avatar world. It added that the products would advance its educational plans for intending members.
NASA said its challenge launch would also help with its research on Planet Mars. It announced the competition on Herox, a site for hiring talents, calling for digital creators that would help build virtual offerings that would mirror real-world spaces.

The digital experiences that the space agency identified would be part of the developers’ simulation, including an exploration area, a research hub, and a section for maintaining the operating space. Winners of the competition would earn a total of $70k.
The challenge has reportedly gathered much attention from different people who intend to collaborate towards advancing the space agency’s Metaverse. Over 24 groups and 236 developers are working together to build the Martian project.
The simulation would assist the space body in cutting down on costs by utilizing part of the simulation’s modules in educating intending astronauts in different real-world situations.
